TITLE: Engineering and Projects Manager
SALARY: District's Asst. Director Salary Scale (126)
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 245 days
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience in commercial construction projects is required.
2. A high school diploma, and at least 5 years of building construction or a related field preferred.
3. Mechanical Engineering Degree Preferred.
4. Experience in maintaining K12 schools desired.
5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director and school board find appropriate and acceptable.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Facilities Management
JOB SUMMARY: To review and/or create designs for Mechanical systems in new and existing facilities, and to manage facility projects of varying scope.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists the Director of Facilities Management to coordinate district-wide construction projects and maintenance projects (HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other contract maintenance and construction as required).
2. Develop Scope of Work for minor renovations and Mechanical projects.
3. Coordinates third party inspection for assigned projects
4. Communicates with OSF regarding facilities projects.
5. As assigned by the Director of Facilities Management, visits assigned projects at frequent intervals to assure that plans, specifications, codes and regulations are being observed and followed.
6. Assists the Director of Facilities Management with solicitations for construction and maintenance contracts.
7. Develops shop drawings for minor renovations and projects.
8. Reviews Architectural plans and Drawings and provides feedback to District Leadership.
9. Coordinates with governmental agencies having jurisdiction over or providing services to school buildings.
10. Maintains necessary records and prepares periodic reports.
11. Monitors the receipt of all insurance policies required of vendors, and verifies appropriate coverage for public liability, property damage, fire and workman's compensation.
12. Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities Management.
