Overview
Engineering Lead, Coastal is responsible for leading coastal project management efforts as well as cultivating business opportunities nationwide by developing and maintaining partnerships and managing client relations and projects within the coastal industry. The Engineering Lead, Coastal works directly with LAN business groups to strategize, create, and execute initiatives to position the firm to execute and win coastal work. The Engineering Lead, Coastal coordinates with Marketing to contribute subject matter expertise to the development of qualifications, proposals, presentations, social media, and traditional collateral pieces. This position may also serve as a project manager for coastal projects managing contracts, clients, and project teams.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain client relationships for coastal projects.
- Acquire leads and identify new market opportunities.
- Lead proposal preparation and participate in project interviews.
- Grow, develop, and build a team of direct reports, including conducting supervisory activities, staff coaching and development, communication, accountability, and growth planning.
- Act as a mentor for the coastal team by taking an active role in the development of department personnel; provide motivation, support continuous education, and encourage professional registration and accreditation.
- Provide project leadership and oversight of coastal team and assist as necessary to ensure quality, efficient delivery and profitable project performance, and innovative, responsive work.
- Oversee the completion of the billing process, collection of client billings and other project operational and financial matters; hold clients accountable for meeting the terms of their contracts.
- Review project financial statistics and make necessary adjustments to ensure projected financial performance is achieved within expectations.
- Conduct monthly project tracking and workload projections.
- Identify staffing needs and develop project work plans.
- Communicate effectively with field personnel, office staff, and clients.
- Maintain technical competency and stay updated on industry regulations and trends.
- Participate in professional organizations to increase firm visibility and establish a network.
Qualifications
- Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Valid Driver's License
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)
- Coastal project experience is required.
- Project and team maangement is required.
