General Purpose:
The Maintenance & Engineering Manager at Hotel Effie, Autograph Collection plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the Maintenance Department and ensuring the optimal condition of hotel properties. This position ensures quality control, coordinates with various departments, and works closely with homeowners to maintain and enhance property conditions.
Essential Duties:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Maintenance Department, ensuring all tasks and maintenance requests are completed according to hotel standards.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized projects as needed.
- Provide detailed financial reporting to the General Manager and assist in managing departmental budgets, including payroll, purchases, supplies, and expenses.
- Establish positive relationships with homeowners in the rental program and communicate all issues to the Director as necessary.
- Monitor guest feedback and address any concerns related to property conditions.
- Inspect properties upon homeowner arrivals to ensure optimal appearance and condition.
- Monitor work orders for proper placement into the V1 system, ensuring timely completion and following up with vendors when necessary.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance across departments, following up to ensure work is completed to satisfaction.
- Inspect deep cleans performed on properties to ensure homeowner satisfaction.
- During high season, assist with departmental billing processes, closing out work orders, tracking invoices, and posting costs to homeowner accounts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, with 3-5 years of related experience in maintenance management or training.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid driver's license with at least three years of driving experience and no major violations in the past three years.
- Proficiency in reading and writing to facilitate communication processes and follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform most tasks outdoors in various seasonal elements.
- Must be able to stand and move efficiently for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching required for maintenance and cleaning tasks.
- Capable of maneuvering between various functions simultaneously.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and push/pull carts or equipment weighing up to 200 lbs frequently.
- Physical dexterity required for tasks such as grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to climb, bend, and balance when accessing hard-to-reach areas or performing repairs.
- Continuous communication with guests, employees, and supervisors, requiring clear speech and hearing abilities.
- Visual acuity required for tasks such as inspections, reading blueprints, and operating tools.
- Must possess manual dexterity for operating maintenance equipment and performing detailed repairs.
