Uber for Business (U4B) is Uber's strategic focus on enterprise business and Uber Health is one of the fastest growing verticals under U4B. As an Engineering Manager II leading Uber Health team, you will be building, leading and supporting a very experienced and talented team of engineers designing the large scale web services powering Uber Health products and systems. You will also have the exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with a wide spectrum of cross functional teams to set up the vision and mission of Uber Health, setting the technical roadmap and shipping impactful products to our customers.

What the Candidate Will Do ----
1. Lead and support a full stack engineering team with web, backend and mobile engineers. Hire top talent, coach, mentor and grow the team.
2. Empower the team to excel in their roles by providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
3. Provide technical leadership and influence. Partner with cross functional teams to architect, design and build systems and platforms that can stand the test of scale and availability, while reducing operational overhead
4. Help define the engineering culture and uphold the processes that will shape the future of the Uber Health team.
5. Ensures timely delivery with clear project plan and timelines, which requires exercising judgment to resolve trade-offs between short-term and long-term priorities, managing stakeholder expectations, and working with dependent teams to align deliverables.
6. Monitor and measure launched products and feed learnings back into the product development process.
\\-\\-\\-\\- Basic Qualifications ----
1. 4+ years as an engineering manager, 7+ years relevant engineering experience as an engineer.
2. Proven track record of setting roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegating intelligently, mentoring engineers, delivering frequent and transparent feedback, helping team members grow in their careers and driving results.
3. Strong software engineering skills on parallel execution of complex technical projects and end to end launching experiences.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write detailed technical documents.
5. Ability to work with product management, data scientists and other shareholders to deliver high-quality products on time and within scope.
\\-\\-\\-\\- Preferred Qualifications ----
1. Have a strong business sense and ability to challenge and partner with product managers and various business stakeholders.
2. Experience in HIPAA and Health domains.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$223,000 per year - USD$248,000 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$223,000 per year - USD$248,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
