Job Summary:
The Engineering Manager will build, lead, and develop a team of talented engineers and drafters, make key technical decisions, and deliver high-impact results that ensure company objectives and engineering goals are achieved.

Essential Functions:
- Directs and supervises a team of electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and drafters
- Provides direct employee mentorship, development, and constructive performance evaluations
- Leads manufacturing engineering process development and executes strategic initiatives
- Oversees research, design, and development of new and existing product lines
- Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, providing input, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood
- Serves as project manager for multiple projects, creating timelines and cost projections, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets
- Directs tooling design, sourcing, and construction to enable efficient and effective work
- Provides input for quality assurance/control and identifies/addresses production-related issues that may impact Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standards
- Sets a high standard of collaboration across Engineering, Production, Quality and Supply Chain
- Provides after-sale technical and warranty support
- Supports Sales Department, including but not limited to, meeting with customers, providing designs to satisfy customer specifications, and/or offering alternative solutions when customer expectations cannot be met
- Co-lead Value Analysis / Value Engineering activities to leverage technical expertise, project management skills, and cross-functional collaboration
- Prepares and executes departmental budget
- Negotiates contracts with outside vendors
- Maintains knowledge of current trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering field
- 8+ years of related experience required
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies
- Familiar with ISO9001:2015 or similar quality management systems
- Experience with MRP/ERP manufacturing software
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Knowledge of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vehicle electrical systems and equipment
- Understanding of engineering principles, especially as they relate to vehicle systems and components, including design, troubleshooting, and repair
- Ability to communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience effectively
Preferred Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Master's degree in engineering
- 5+ years of Engineering experience in the automotive manufacturing industry
- Project management skills to oversee the successful completion of automotive engineering projects from conceptualization to implementation
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
