Position Summary
We're adding to our team as we get closer to opening our newest facility in Eden, North Carolina. Revitalized from a former brewery, it will use modern production capabilities to meet increasing demand for dry pet food. Designed with sustainability and safety front of mind, this facility will play a pivotal role in our global environment commitment of Zero Waste for Disposal, Caring for Water, 100 percent renewable electricity use and zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. #JoinOurPack
As an Engineering Project Cost Controller, you will work closely with Project Managers to ensure the proper budget controls are applied to multi-million-dollar capital investment projects for our pet food manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for providing full lifecycle support from project setup to project close out, including budget tracking at the detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) level, monitoring actual costs against line items, and assisting with estimates to complete at the WBS level. At its core, this role will develop and enforce project controls in its capacity as critical liaison between Engineering and Finance.
Requirements
The approximate pay range for this position is $91,000 - $125,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.

- Assist in developing business case for capital projects
- Manage the project budget including monitoring and tracking of costs, variance analysis, risk mitigation and reporting
- Serve as the link between departments to ensure project tracking is setup correctly and maintained accurately
- Connect cost to schedule as well as collaborate with the field team to validate construction percent completes through a physical review of the site
- Audit projects for compliance with Nestle Purina processes and standards and confirm that budget changes reconcile across all Engineering and Finance reporting tools
- Provide cost reporting insights and dashboard support to project managers and other key stakeholders
- Close out project purchase orders, reconcile actuals and facilitate a successful hand off to the factory controller
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of cost control experience in support of engineering, manufacturing, construction, military or related projects
