Summary
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and executing development and improvement projects and managing risk to meet constraints such as performance, schedule, and budget.

Education and/or Experience - Minimum B.S. in Mechanical/Electrical/Optical Engineering or Technology with 7+ years of work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: Effectively uses MS Project, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Experience with ERP systems. Demonstrated ability to learn new software tools.
Technical - Strong technology perspective particularly related to the optics and precision machine industry through prior experience.
Product Development: Experience working with a multi-disciplined team in new product development to include: Requirements development and management, risk management, schedule and cost management, and release to manufacturing.
Travel - Travel is not a core part of the job; however infrequent travel may be required. Must have ability to communicate effectively globally.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000-$110,000

- Manages new product development projects through all stages of QED development process, from requirements definition through release to manufacturing.
- Manages continuous improvement projects.
- Helps to improve QED development processes.
- Builds and manages project schedules and budgets
- Works across disciplines (technical and otherwise) to identify and manage project risk.
- Works with suppliers/contractors to ensure project goals are met.
- Communicates project status to all stakeholders
- Documents lessons learned to contribute to QED's institutional knowledge.
- Ensures new products adhere to relevant laws, regulations and standards.
- Communicates frequently with team members. Openly brainstorms with team members.
