Job Summary
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.
This position is in the Enterprise Infrastructure Directorate, House Information Resources (HIR), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House). The Enterprise Infrastructure Directorate provides engineering and technical support in the following areas: Voice Communications, Data Center Operations, Server and Storage Management, and Administrative Support. The teams within this Directorate support the infrastructure (circuits, cabling, servers, data storage, voice systems, and other physical infrastructure) that provides computing and telecommunications services to the House. This position serves as the Engineering Team Lead.
Key responsibilities include leading and directing the engineering team activities associated with relevant aspects of the infrastructure supporting systems and services of the CAO; understanding the Windows Servers, VMWare Virtualization, regularly monitor server health and performance using monitoring tools, Group Policy Objects, House storage area networks, Linux/Unix, Exchange, Active Directory, System Center Operations Manager, Dynatrace Monitoring, Log management, Configuration Manager, Windows Updates, software applications, system hardware components, hardware lifecycle replacement, Member and Committee office structure, and other elements associated with infrastructure and activities associated with system architecture, configuration, administration, performance monitoring, disaster recovery, documentation, customer interface, and reporting; performing administrative activities including team meetings, reporting, strategic planning, and project documentation; providing the vision and direction to meet business and strategic goals to include business continuity/disaster recovery objectives; and contributing to the formulation and execution of the associated Branch portion of the Enterprise Operations budget.
Candidates are required to work a diversified schedule and participate in 24x7 on-call support.

- Installs, configures tests, and implements server management software and hardware.
- Plans and executes disaster recovery exercises.
- Manages and maintains Cybersecurity vulnerability management and remediation.
- Oversees secure server management, network security, system monitoring, and data center operations.
- Installs and configures server management and software deployment solutions using Microsoft Configuration Manager (CM).
- Analyzes current server configurations to assist in capacity planning, and monitor and tune system performance. Generates reports on disk space usage and overall resource utilization.
- Monitors server resource availability and usage through Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
- Implements Dynatrace monitoring solutions to track key performance metrics, including response times, transaction volumes, and server resource usage.
- Configures Dynatrace to monitor and optimize server resource usage, including CPU, memory, and storage, ensuring system availability and scalability.
- Conducts regular performance reviews using Dynatrace insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize infrastructure cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications
- 8 years experience with Microsoft systems administration in a large enterprise.
- 2 years of implementation and configuration experience in Virtual/Physical Windows environments.
- 5 years experience with UNIX systems administration with the 2 most recent years including Linux.
- Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and System Center Operations Manager experience.
- Extensive experience with system Monitoring.
- Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VMware and Dell PowerEdge hardware preferred.
- Experience with Red Hat is a plus.
- Experience with Dynatrace is a plus.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability (KSA) and Competency Requirements
- Knowledge of server administration, local and wide area networks, and security concepts.
- Knowledge of enterprise backup systems and storage area networks.
- Knowledge of IT service delivery; ability to support large environment enterprise services.
