Data Governance & Cloud Standards - Establish governance frameworks, cost optimization, and best practices

High Availability & Disaster Recovery - Design resilient, multi-region cloud architectures

API Development - Experience with Python, Java, GraphQL for API integrations

Technical Leadership & Mentorship - Guide engineering teams on cloud architecture principles

Business & IT Alignment - Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cloud adoption aligns with business needs

About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Architect to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for our cloud initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will shape our enterprise cloud architecture, establish governance frameworks, and drive innovation while ensuring our GCP environment delivers optimal performance, security, and business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the enterprise-wide GCP architecture strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives
• Design complex, scalable, and resilient multi-region cloud architectures for mission-critical workloads
• Lead architectural reviews and provide authoritative guidance on GCP best practices
• Establish technical standards, governance frameworks, and architectural patterns for cloud adoption
• Develop reference architectures and solution blueprints for common use cases
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate GCP services based on workload requirements, performance needs, and cost considerations
• Design secure, compliant architectures that adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Optimize existing cloud architectures for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
• Partner with senior leadership to align technical decisions with business strategies
• Mentor engineers and technical teams on cloud architecture principles and GCP services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Stay at the forefront of GCP innovations and incorporate new capabilities into architectural roadmaps
• Has worked on API development using Python/Java and GraphQL

Qualifications:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in IT architecture with 5+ years focused on cloud technologies
• 4+ years of hands-on experience architecting solutions on Google Cloud Platform
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification or equivalent experience
• Deep technical knowledge of GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, App Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and networking services
• Expertise in designing secure, scalable, and highly available Analytical systems
• Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, and serverless computing
• Knowledge of network architecture, security frameworks, and identity management
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts to various audiences
• Strong domain knowledge of Banking & Financial Services.

Preferred

• Multiple Google Cloud certifications (Cloud Architect, Security Engineer, Network Engineer, Data Engineer)
• Experience with multi-cloud architectures and hybrid cloud integration
• Experience with data architecture and analytics platforms on GCP
• Knowledge of machine learning and AI capabilities within GCP
• Experience with FinOps and cloud cost optimization at scale
• Background in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, etc.)
• Track record of creating architectural governance frameworks
