SUMMARY
As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping the data landscape at our organization. You will be responsible for developing and governing data architecture, ensuring data integrity, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing data models, optimizing data storage and retrieval processes. The Data Architect will work closely with IT leadership, data engineers, application analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure efficient data management and utilization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, and implement accurate, scalable data architectures to support business needs across a myriad of complex systems.
Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
Create and maintain data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
Maintain modeling and naming standards and data normalization, meta data management, source to target data mapping documentation using industry standard tools.
Establish a Master Data Management program that will help create a common view of master data and provide a centralized mechanism for its aggregation, cleansing, transformation, augmentation, validation, syndication, and enterprise-wide system sources of truth.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, communicate solutions, and translate them into technical designs.
Implement data integration strategies and Extract, Load, Transform, (ELT) processes.
Oversee data pipelines, integration workflows, and ETL/ELT processes using tools like Informatica, Talend, or Azure Data Factory.
Evaluate and recommend new data technologies, tools, and frameworks.
Work within Azure cloud platforms to design and manage cloud-based data solutions. (e.g. Snowflake)
Architect data solutions within Azure cloud platform, leveraging tools like Snowflake, Databricks, and Synapse.
Provide guidance and mentorship to data engineers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum ten years of recent experience in Data Analytics and Data Warehousing, including cloud-native database and modern data warehouse design.
Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or a similar role.
Prior experience establishing data governance policies and standards
Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
Proficiency in data integration tools and ELT frameworks (Informatica, Talend, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Strong knowledge of database management systems (Oracle, MS SQL Server, preferred).
Experience in implementing a variety of data warehousing concepts, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., Incremental, SCD, Star Schema, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with data and analytics solutions in the supply chain, food service, or manufacturing industry.
Experience with AI/ML-driven data architectures.
Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (Snowflake, Cosmos DB, etc.).
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
