Enterprise Strategy Director

Description:
The Enterprise Strategy Director role will partner directly with department leadership team members and business unit peers to help solve the most important and complex questions and challenges facing GuideWell as an Enterprise. This role will focus on the identification enterprise-level challenges and opportunities, including strategy, business development, and growth initiatives. The incumbent will also partner with business unit peers, segment subject matter experts, finance, and corporate development to support key Enterprise projects and initiatives. In addition, the incumbent will support executive leadership decision-making by leading the development, distillation, and analysis of our Enterprise strategy, leveraging internal and external expertise to make connections and augment relevance to current industry dynamics impacting our operations.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Drive the development, alignment, communication, and on-going evolution of GuideWell's enterprise strategies, aimed at strengthening our competitive advantage, while advancing our collective mission, vision, and values across the communities we serve
Lead discussions with key stakeholders (in partnership with internal department leadership) to explain trends, priorities, and issues to be addressed within our strategy refresh
Understand and anticipate competitive dynamics including the understanding of traditional and non-traditional competitors, influencing strategy, investment commitments and enterprise strengths to differentiate
Interface with business unit peers across the Enterprise, understanding where strategy, strategic planning, and market insights can support current thinking by augmenting parent company focused insights and development of strategy council framework
Perform in-depth analysis to extract insights and provide feedback of certain business trends and variances to allow for continuous business growth and improvement
Thought Leadership at an Enterprise Level
Aid the company in thinking differently through the introduction of new ideas that embed long-term strategic thinking into ongoing business processes within GuideWell
Review, understand and collaborate with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) on the implications of new Federal and State health care legislation, policies and regulation
Develop and implement cross-functional relationships across the Enterprise, built by strong partnerships with strategy partners from across each of our businesses
Establish collaborative business partner relationships including responding to in-bound requests for project related analysis, as required on an unsolicited basis
Develop clear, concise, and well-organized written communications with consultant-like quality, requiring minimal supervision
Contribute to the development of talent both directly and in-directly managed to contribute to key department-wide efforts
Mentor, develop and assess the performance of key team members as part of the Enterprise strategy department on a quarterly and annual basis
Enables and provides data/intelligence, frameworks, key questions and meeting facilitation with key executives to drive definition and alignment around the "how and execution" for key strategies, including: the overall Enterprise Strategy, business unit strategies, key strategic issues and projects (both Enterprise and business unit level), key functional area strategies, scenario development/strategy mapping of current and proposed strategies to the scenarios and implementation and continued iteration of GuideWell's strategy enablement council concept
Acts as a single point of accountability for assigned segment workflows, including leading key workflows within a matrixed environment and driving key business partner alignment
Job Requirements:
8+ years related work experience. Experience Details: Experience in health care corporate strategy development and execution Experience in leading or managing large, complex projects
Related Bachelor's degree required or additional related work experience
Understanding of the health care and managed care industries, including key factors that influence performance
Broad business experience and knowledge that spans multiple business functions, focused on the health care industry
Experience working in a de-centralized and matrix reporting focused operating model
Strong competencies in oral and written communications, business acumen, executive presence, and organizational savvy
Advanced knowledge of and experience in developing strategies and key scenario planning surrounding execution. Strong problem-solving skills
Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong and effective business relationships
Creative with a strong ability to think 'outside the box', effectively translating environmental trends to strategic opportunities
Ability to act in a consultative and influencer role across all areas of the enterprise, including with executive leadership
Preferred:
Master's degree
Previous work experience in health care with significant payor and clinical knowledge Knowledge of Enterprise, Business Unit and Functional Strategies Master's degree, MBA, MHA Knowledge of enterprise structure, accountabilities and leadership Experience in investment banking or private equity
General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Annualized Salary Range: $132,000 - $214,500
Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $132,000 - $165,000
Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
