The EHS Manager is responsible for developing and executing programs to ensure a safe workplace and minimize environmental impact. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, drives performance improvements, and fosters a proactive safety culture.

EHS Technical Expertise
Health & Safety: Behavior-Based Safety, Hazard Communication (SDS), PPE, Incident Investigation, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Ergonomics, Emergency Response, and OSHA Compliance.
Environmental: Air Emission Management, Waste Management, Spill Prevention, Recycling, Water Conservation, and EPA Reporting (e.g., Form R, SPCC Plans).

General Summary
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing and executing programs to ensure a safe workplace and minimize environmental impact. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, drives performance improvements, and fosters a proactive safety culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and best practices.
- Foster a proactive safety culture, engaging employees and leadership in EHS initiatives.
- Implement and oversee an EHS Management System, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Conduct facility assessments, identify areas for improvement, and drive corrective actions.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Act as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies on EHS matters.
- Oversee EHS training programs and compliance requirements.
- Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Track and report injury, illness, and environmental metrics, driving reductions in risk and impact.
- Provide limited support for Workers' Compensation and champion sustainability initiatives.
- Manage EHS-related regulatory reporting and permitting.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Chemistry, or related field.
- 5-7 years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Office and manufacturing environments with exposure to moving machinery, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
- Support for multiple locations within New Jersey and Maryland.
- Required use of personal protective equipment as needed.
