Position located in Albany, NY manufacturing facility.
SCOPE
This role supports the daily needs of the equipment related to manufacturing Silicon Carbide wafers in the Albany, NY location. The ideal Equipment Engineer has experience working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment continually improving manufacturing equipment and processes. This is a hands-on position, requiring the ability quickly learn about process, understand various pieces of equipment on site and continuously looking for improvement.

The ideal Equipment Engineer has experience working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment continually improving manufacturing equipment and processes. This is a hands-on position, requiring the ability quickly learn about process, understand various pieces of equipment on site and continuously looking for improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and address safety risks within the production environment.
- Act as primary contact for equipment performance and reliability related questions and concerns.
- Perform equipment upgrades as needed to improve equipment reliability, production yield, or overall efficiency.
- Continually work to increase equipment MTBF (mean time between failures) and reduce MTTR (mean time to repair) by:
- Analyzing equipment malfunctions and failures and develop corrective actions as needed.
- Developing Preventative Maintenance Procedures to reduce equipment failures
- Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements
- Maintain documentation for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for future reference.
- Be the Project Manager of equipment related projects which may be in excess of $1M and may include:
- Creating new equipment specifications
- New equipment selection
- Equipment purchase, installation and start-up.
- Work with Business Leaders and Process Owners
REQUIREMENTS
- BS in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Similar
- 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Demonstrated Project Management Skills
- Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
- Practical experience applying structured problem-solving methods.
- Familiarity working in an ISO 9001 environment.
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Commitment to effective communication.
- Initiative to address and appropriately escalate problems to achieve rapid resolution
- Must be a US Citizen or be a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. to meet Export Control requirements
Pay Range
