Summary: Direct the equipment planning function and supervise all employees in the department responsible for the planning, procurement, delivery, installation and repair of construction equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct activities of subordinates in all phases of the equipment planning; pre-planning, equipment planning, procurement, submittal administration, delivery, installation and repair.
Ensure proper utilization of in-house project management tools for execution of services.
Direct in concert with leadership all routine staff meetings and processes for managing and forecasting resource requirements.
Participate in monthly financial review meetings with Leadership.
Participate in and provide input into the marketing of the company's equipment planning and management services. This includes, but is not limited to, client presentations and development of printed marketing media.
Prepare and administer the annual budget for the equipment planning group.
Resolve any conflicts within the equipment planning group.
Develop, implement and manage all policies and procedures related to the operations.
Participate in marketing efforts, including preparation of initial marketing material, RFPs and formal presentations.
Direct the evaluation of equipment and related systems with respect to age, condition, and technological status and make recommendations to owner/client regarding appropriate disposition.
Manage a team approach in implementing the equipment planning process.
Generate and analyze RFPs.
Direct the preparation of project cost estimates for inclusion into owner/client proposals.
Able to prioritize and delegate multiple responsibilities to others.
Able to read and interpret blue prints and other architectural designs.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to service multiple projects at the same time.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to interface with internal and external clients. Education, Experience and Required Skills, Including Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
A bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or a related field of study.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
At least 5 years of DOT and commercial subcontract experience in highway manufacturing, or another related field.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to conduct details price and cost analysis.
Experience in contracts administration, business operations, or supply chain management.
Familiarity with different contract structures.
Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license.
