If you have experience in estate planning, you may be an excellent addition to our growing law firm. We are looking for a highly analytical candidate with good negotiation and organizing skills who can work full-time. As our estate planning attorney, you will draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for clients and their families. To ensure that an estate's management is handled in accordance with the wishes of the estate owner, this position requires a significant level of responsibility. Responsibilities
Collaborate with managing attorney and paralegals to effectively move files through the estate planning process
Create wills, trusts and powers of attorneys for the firm's clients
Advise clients regarding retirement plans, charitable giving, and insurance options
Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
Consult clients about your plans for distributing their assets
Keep client files properly organized and up to date
Qualifications
Must be licensed to practice in NY
Candidates should be great communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
Understanding of a variety of real estate matters, including title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation
Must have worked on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years
