Retro Environmental, a well-established Selective Demolition and Environmental Remediation company is seeking an Estimator to join the growing team at our Mechanicsburg, PA office.

The Estimator works independently as well as collaboratively with executive management, other team members and project teams, to estimate project costs for fixed price bids, proposals and change orders. Estimator's job is to leverage field experience, industry knowledge and solid analytical skills to prepare accurate quantity take-offs. Fundamental to this role is the ability to make sound assumptions and identify gaps in construction documents. Salary, ranging from $70,000 - $115,000, commensurate with experience.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of Estimating process.
  • Conducts thorough analysis of drawings and specification, ensuring required information is provided.
  • Solicits sub-contractor pricing and bids for different trades in preparation of cost estimate.
  • Participates in proposal preparation.
  • Participates in all stages of bidding process.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related task as needed.
  • Coordinates administrative staff in preparation and submission of required documents.
  • Helps other estimators with pricing schedules.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 - 5 years' experience.
  • Knowledge of the selective demolition and environmental remediation industry.
  • Ability to read, or willingness to learn to read, architectural plans; ability to understand construction processes.
  • Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic is needed. Must be able to work independently without close supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • College degree or high school diploma with equivalent years' experience
  • We are willing to train the right individual with construction related experience
