Primary Function: Accountable for the management and performance of all computer information systems as utilized in the administrative operations of the district. Additionally, provides technical guidance and support in developing and updating a long-range plan for the application of computers and technology in all instructional and administrative programs.
Reports To: Superintendent
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises technology support staff, and provides input into their evaluations.
Salary: Minimum Salary Starting at $125,000 - Commensurate experience and qualifications.
Qualifications:
A B.A. or B.S preferably with a concentration of studies in computer science, information or instructional technology or certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft or Cisco is required for this position. A minimum of 5 years of experience in direct relation to information or instructional technology. Proven skills in custom application development and maintenance. Experience with open-source development tools and application development is preferable. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Passage of pre-employment medical examination, including Tuberculosis (TB) test and any other job-specific required medical testing. Pass a Regional Office of Education Fingerprint based Background Clearance including Federal Bureau of Investigation. Alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board finds appropriate and acceptable may be approved.
Physical Demands:
This position requires some standing, ability to bend and physical dexterity. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to meet the essential requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support, implement, promote and enhance the district's instructional program through effective management practices. Supervise technology support staff. Design and maintain the district information system programs and software to meet the needs of the district and all of the schools. Establish information system policies, standards and procedures with a level of security which provides maximum operational availability. Provide constant evaluation of the effectiveness of current information system operations with recommendations and plans for improvement which better meet the needs of the school system. Seek alternative solutions and funding to keep operation and maintenance of information systems as low as reasonably achievable, without diminishing necessary support for the needs of the instructional computing curriculum. Partner with the Executive Director of Finance to establish and maintain the department's budget. Plan, coordinate and provide staff development and conducting in-service when necessary, in the use of the computer as an instructional tool. Promote and enhance the district's technology program and thereby support the instructional delivery system to improve student learning. Attend local, county and or state technology conferences, meetings or workshops. Demonstrate support for the Mission, Beliefs and Goals of District 30-C. Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations and administrative procedures. Demonstrate professionalism and contribute to a positive work environment. Perform other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position. Terms of Employment:
