The Executive Director of University Relations, reporting to the President, plays a pivotal role in advancing the seminary's mission by overseeing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including annual, capital, and planned giving programs. The Executive Director builds and nurtures relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance visibility, reputation, and strategic partnerships. This position is responsible for securing financial support through donations, grants, and endowments, ensuring that all fundraising initiatives align with the seminary's strategic goals.

Position Specific Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a fundraising strategy aligned with the seminary's mission and strategic goals, setting and achieving fundraising targets.
- Oversee all fundraising efforts, including annual giving, capital campaigns, endowments, and special initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, alumni, church leaders, and other key stakeholders.
- Manage grant applications and provide regular reports on fundraising performance and financial progress.
- Cultivate alumni relationships and ensure ongoing engagement.
- Assist the President in developing strategic partnerships with educational institutions, faith-based organizations, and community groups to support fundraising and outreach goals.
- Work alongside the President in managing the seminary's public image, including media relations, press releases, and social media, ensuring alignment with its mission.
- Assist the President in managing reputational risks and crisis communications.
- Lead content development for the seminary's website, publications, and other key communications.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director of Enrollment Management to design and promote community outreach initiatives, including seminars, workshops, and events, that strengthen the seminary's presence and connect prospective students, churches, and community partners.
- Develop recruitment strategies alongside the Executive Director of Enrollment Management, targeting prospective students in high schools, churches, and faith-based communities.
- Collaborate with admissions to communicate the seminary's academic offerings and mission, supporting recruitment efforts.
- Lead and mentor the Advancement and Marketing teams, fostering effective fundraising and engagement practices.
- Plan and execute major events, including graduation ceremonies, alumni and donor events, and conferences, to engage stakeholders and elevate the seminary's reputation.
University-Wide Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by governing entities (DOE, TRACS, ABHE, etc.); file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.

- Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide oversight to the Office of Advancement.
- Provide oversight to the Director of Marketing
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years' fundraising experience with educational institutions or non-profit organizations.
- Five years of administrative experience with proven success in fundraising, communications, and external relations.
- Strong understanding of higher education, particularly faith-based institutions, and the unique needs of theological education.
- Knowledge of the non-profit sector, charitable giving techniques, and relevant laws.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficiency in computer skills and technology.
- Passion for the seminary's mission and a commitment to advancing its vision.
