Summary of Job Description:

The Executive Director, Operations Innovation leads a diverse team of associates to develop, enable and drive new Operations initiatives for Panda Restaurant Group, including new standards, processes, equipment, service models, and concepts. This position supports Operations and SC executive leaders, reporting to the Chief Development Officer.

You'll get a chance to:
  • Leads development and maintenance of standards and processes, working with Ops and HR to implement training programs and documentation to support store-level adoption.
  • Establishes and leads the Audit team to regularly assess and enforce store-level execution of standards and processes.
  • Works closely with Operations leadership to identify innovative opportunities and develop strategies and plans for improving efficiency and quality of execution. Implement process improvements and deploy technology to address issues in store operations.
  • Performs value-added analysis to optimize workforce planning and scheduling, productivity improvement, and store level structure. Identifies improvement opportunities for implementation. Advises on impact of change initiatives on labor productivity and cost.
  • Integrates and coordinates Concept/Operations innovation initiatives at Support Center and keeps track of all new projects rolled out to the field. Conducts appropriate data analytics to support the initiatives.
  • Partners closely with Restaurant Development, Operations, Marketing Product Innovation, Information Systems, Finance, Strategy, Supply Chain and Food Safety Quality Assurance to enhance front and back-of-house excellence through innovation in equipment, technology and service delivery procedures.
  • Leads a team of managers and professionals, coaching and developing associates' performance to achieve the company's growth goals. Recruits, selects, and retains talent in Operations Innovation.
  • Leads cross-functional team to execute holistic concept innovation plans for new store builds, remodels, and rollouts.

Your background and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 12 - 15 years of experience in multi-unit restaurant or retail Operations; track record in leading innovation, efficiency, and optimization initiatives and experience supporting executive leadership or working as part of an executive team, preferably in a multi-unit retail environment
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.


Pay Range: M5: $205,000 - $288,000 / Annual

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.

While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, have effective verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, and the ability to manage conflicts/difficult situations.
