- Ensure that all organizational endeavors reflect a commitment to the Mission and Vision of Pathway, Inc.
- Enhance organizational posture related to Equal Employment Opportunities and the Americans with Disabilities Act by making a good faith effort to recruit, select, develop and retain protected class employees.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, guide and evaluate the organization's programs and performance.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and reimbursement trends.
- Reports operational concerns and makes recommendations to the CEO.
- Guide and support Clinical Services staff in the provision of therapeutic services; manage administrative issues in conjunction with Clinical Services Supervisors.
- Ensure the availability of resources to implement staff training and development plans that meet regulatory standards.
- Establish and promote rapport in and among services to enhance interdisciplinary decision-making.
- Interpret/explain Pathway's policies and procedures to employees, clients, family members, visitors, regulatory agencies, etc. as necessary.
- Represent Pathway, Inc. positively int he community and participate in state level agency meetings and functions.
- Assure that stipulations of all contractual agreements are met.
- Inspect/evaluate facilities routinely to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented.
- Responsible for the overall quality, integrity, and management of the program that are assigned.
- Apply Performance Improvement principles to existing operating systems.
- Attend the Integrity Review Committee meeting on a monthly basis.
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc. to remain abreast of changes in the behavioral health care field.
- Study long-range trends and project organizational prospects for future growth in the field of behavioral health care, and opportunities for acquisitions or expansion. Estimate requirement for capital, land, buildings, and human resources.
- Participate in Admission Review Team processes; may act independently in urgent case referrals.
- Available on-call for emergency management support.
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of a master's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience and Competencies: Minimum of five (5) years administrative management experience in the field of behavioral health care; an energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image; a strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement and strong operational focus; a well-organized and self-directed individual; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills; a good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor; the individual includes staff in planning, decision making, facilitating and process improvement; makes self-available to staff; provides regular performance feedback; develops subordinates' skills and encourages professional growth; an excellent negotiator who is experienced in contracts; a decisive individual who is well versed in systems operation; must have a working knowledge of reimbursement regulations, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing personnel administration; a champion of high quality care and client safety. The CEO must maintain a valid Alabama Driver License, submit to a background investigation, and complete the annual tuberculosis screening, as well as a physical health examination every three (3) years.
Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents; ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints; ability to make effective and persuasive presentation on controversial or complex topics.
