SALARY GRADE: The minimum salary for this position is $78,000, with the final salary determined based on the candidate's qualifications.

POSITION SUMARY:
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for setting and implementing the organization's long-term strategy while managing day-to-day operations. The Executive Director oversees critical functions such as program development, fundraising, financial oversight, staff leadership, and external relations, ensuring that every aspect of the organization aligns with its overarching mission.
Beyond internal operations, the Executive Director fosters community engagement by building strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders. The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in steering the organization toward achieving its mission and making a significant impact on the communities it serves.
The Executive Director must balance financial sustainability with a mission-driven approach, including compliance with accreditation, deemed status, and regulatory agencies. This position requires a strategic approach to meet the agency's mission and vision. The Executive Director is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the public, funders, law enforcement, criminal justice staff, and other human services organizations and agencies.
Additionally, the Executive Director collaborates with the Board of Directors to maintain effective governance and ensures that the organization complies with all legal and ethical obligations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to involve them in policy decisions, fundraising, and increasing the overall visibility of the organization. Hire, supervise, and collaborate with organizational staff. Lead strategic planning and its implementation. Plan and organize the annual budget. Serve as Project Woman's primary spokesperson to the organization's constituents, the media, and the general public. Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and use those relationships to strategically enhance the organization's mission. Develop employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions of the day-to-day operations. Review and approve contracts for services within the organization's policies, approved budgets, and in compliance with applicable grant regulations and funding requirements. Lead the organization based on its values and mission. Ensure agency operations align with all legal, financial, and regulatory requirements. Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality in finance, administration, fundraising, communications, and systems. Recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment. Manage fiscal responsibilities by ensuring that the organization operates within the approved budget, maximizes resource utilization, and maintains a positive financial position. Approve and monitor budget performance for the organization to ensure efficient and effective operations; conduct routine risk assessments and communicate with the leadership team to address issues and ensure success. Implement strategic plans based on data-driven analytics, projections, and financials to ensure overall agency success. Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders for donor and resource development; communicate the mission and vision to ensure alignment with potential partners, community and systems advocacy, and inform policymakers toward change as needed. Maintain a solid plan for diversification of funding; actively raise funds from various sources, both public and private, to support the budget and long-term financial goals and sustainability strategies. Oversee continuous improvement efforts; monitor and evaluate programs and services for compliance, ongoing budgetary needs, and alignment with the mission and vision. Define organizational direction based on input. Provide community and systems advocacy through public speaking, networking, formal and informal education with stakeholders, and participation on community committees and boards as needed. Cultivate strong relationships with local media; oversee Project Woman's presence on social media. Provide onboarding, training, and annual development opportunities for the Board of Directors. Ensure effective communication with the Board of Directors by providing budget/fiscal updates, program/operations performance summaries, and other information necessary to maintain governance and fiduciary oversight responsibilities. Serve as the agent/owner on behalf of the Board of Directors for Chrysalis LLC and its property, Chrysalis Manor; enter into and uphold lease agreements, ensure property/assets are well-maintained, and comply with all zoning and regulatory requirements. Maintain and expand networks at the local, county, state, and national levels, while actively networking and advocating for policy changes across these levels. Perform other duties as needed, requested, or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in related field, or Bachelor's degree and appropriate/ related prior work experience. Skill level for an acceptable degree level should be coupled with demonstrated increased responsibility directly related to job duties and responsibilities. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Must be a leader, motivator, team player, have a positive attitude and the ability to interact well with clients, staff, board and the public. Experience and passion for supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and intimate partner violence is strongly preferred and will be a key factor in the selection process. Candidates with this experience will be given priority over those without.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is moderately active and includes standing and sitting for long periods. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Travel in and out of state for trainings, conferences, and seminars is possible.
