Position: Executive Regional Manager, Children's Educational Services

Summary: The Executive Regional Manager reports to the Vice President of Children's Educational Services (CES). The position includes direct line supervision of the operations Regional Managers. The position carries regional responsibility for licensed early year programs, unlicensed before and after school programs and may include Early ON and Family Centres.

Location: London, Ontario - hybrid role

Start Date: June 15, 2025

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000

Schedule:
  • This role primarily works Monday - Friday
  • Considerable driving between sites within Southwestern Ontario


In this role, you will:
  • Provide direct coaching and supervision to assigned Regional Managers (RMs)
  • Contribute to the planning and the achievement of strategic outcomes, bring insight into factors affecting Child Care operations, which include workforce planning, operational efficiencies and the potential transformation and implementation of a national childcare agreement
  • Ensure a current succession plan and career pathways are created
  • Ensure the development and implementation of employee engagement strategies for your region
  • Ensures the health and safety of all employees within your region
  • Provide leadership for all employee development in CES to enhance the attraction and retention of quality employees
  • Be accountable for the delivery of high-quality care in your region in accordance with legislative requirements, YMCA policies and best practices, and defined curriculums for licensed Child Care and School-Age programs
  • Oversee the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and reporting to our municipal funders as required for your region
  • Work alongside government and community partners to increase understanding of challenges and factors impacting children and families, and advocate for funding and service partnerships as appropriate
  • Continually advocate for required investment in compensation to ensure competitive position in the labour market


Education & Skills Qualifications:
  • Post secondary education in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of second level leadership experience in complex and multi-site operations also has the ability and willingness to perform hands on support as required
  • Deep knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years' Act, 2014, How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years, and provincial and municipal guidelines related to childcare operations
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong change management skills and the ability to work effectively to build a collaborative team culture
  • Possesses high emotional intelligence (i.e. self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, social skills)
  • Proficient excel skills and good working knowledge of all Microsoft applications, email and internet applications
  • Training and experience in financial management including budget preparation
  • Must provide a current criminal record check as per the Association's policy
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
