THE OPPORTUNITY: Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for an Exploitation Engineer, within our Reservoir Engineering Department, based out of our Calgary, AB office for a 12-month term position. The successful candidate will be eligible to participate in Tundra's hybrid work schedule.
The Exploitation Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for:
- Monitor well production performance, production modelling based on flow regimes and reserve estimation using unconventional techniques, as required
- Identify and provide economic justifications for new drills and workover opportunities
- Participate in the design & interpretation of reservoir surveillance methods to characterize the reservoir, evaluate the effectiveness of well completions and development scenarios
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to conduct well-reviews and identify workover candidates
- Work with reservoir specialists in simulation to assess well design and spacing for both primary and secondary recovery
- Prepare yearly budget targets for both production and capital programs and project managing to ensure the targets are met
- Support development of long-range-plans to efficiently de-risk contingent resources over the multiyear horizon
- Engage with teams to provide appropriate performance lookbacks of drilling programs to Senior Management
- Preparing yearly budget targets for both production and capital programs and project managing to ensure the targets are met.
- Run project economics and sensitivities to assess viability of individual wells, infill pilots, workovers and waterflood projects
- Working with geosciences, production, facilities and land professionals to identify and evaluate opportunities to create value
- Conducting internal mid-year reserves assessment and stewarding the year end reserves process with third party evaluators
Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Professional Engineer or Engineer In Training with 5+ years active and progressive experience
- Familiarity with field operations, in particular light oil operations an asset
- Excellent knowledge of reservoir engineering techniques, well forecasting methodology, reservoir studies, and economic analysis
- Experience with software's such Accumap, Mosaic, and Spotfire is an asset
- Well developed teamwork skills (collaboration, communication, participation)
- Well developed critical thinking skills (ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions, conclusions and make appropriate interventions)
- Excellent presentation as well as written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment
- Comfortable making recommendations to senior management.
- Prior Business Team Lead and/or supervisory experience with the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team of individuals is an asset.
- Willingness to travel to field sites
