Job Summary
The Manager of Compliance - Export Control is responsible for overseeing the company's compliance with U.S. and international export control laws and regulations. This position ensures that all export activities comply with applicable regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The Manager of Compliance - Export Control works closely with internal teams and external agencies to mitigate risks and ensure the smooth and lawful export of goods and technology.
Essential Job Functions
Supports the development of short and long-term strategies for export compliance initiatives.
Development and execution of robust export compliance program. This includes, but is not limited to, drafting policies, processes, and procedures in coordination with company stakeholders.
Ensures company transactions comply with USG laws, implementing regulations, and guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, sales, supply chain activity, and transmission of controlled technology.
Drafting timely export licenses, agreements, technology control plans, and other forms of export licensing requests for submission to regulatory agencies.
Ensure facilities are compliant with export regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, management of foreign visitors and foreign person employees.
For applicable foreign business partners and end-users, ensure that appropriate safeguards for the inadvertent transfer of controlled technology, data, and hardware are in place.
Ensure that relevant SEDA and SUSA export compliance policies are fully supported and implemented.
Advise Program Managers on licensing policies, regulations, guidelines, and practices under EAR and ITAR. Responds to inquiries on the application of export control regulations and licensing policies/practices/guidelines to international transactions and program activities.
Participate in planning, organizing, and supporting company export compliance training and other SEDA compliance initiatives.
Identify export compliance issues and risk areas, develop solutions and provide guidance to the Director of Governance & Compliance on resolving issues to support business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and internal policies.
Managing internal and external audits and self-assessments, conducting investigations, drafting disclosures, developing and executing corrective actions.
Analyze hardware and technology to determine export jurisdiction and classifications.
Manage the export control team and ensure the team receives the necessary training to perform their work.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate discipline such as international business, management, or engineering from an accredited educational institution, three (3)+ years of experience managing an export or trade compliance program and ten (10)+ years' experience working in a highly structured/mature trade compliance program within the Aerospace & Defense industry.
Export compliance consultant experience, preferred.
Strong working knowledge of import and export regulations including expert knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and the International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) as well as others that may apply.
Strong USML/ECCN jurisdiction and classification skills.
Familiarity with U.S. government regulations, procedures and organizations is highly desired.

Military program experience a plus.
Proficiency with SAP, is preferred.
Previous experience with foreign national employee licensing, is preferred.
