Each and everyday girls and boys are left to find their own recreation and companionship. An increasing number of kids are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to they have a place in their community where they can go. Clubs provide a safe haven for youth, allow them to meet with friends and be a part of positive peer groups. Club programs teach life skills, conflict resolution and focus on the development of character. Clubs also provide members with positive role models and a nurturing environment that help improve decision-making skills.
Job Summary
The Facilities Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's physical facilities, including maintenance, repairs, security, and compliance with building codes, while prioritizing cost-effectiveness and ensuring a safe and functional environment for staff and club members, often working closely with other departments to address their facility needs and contribute to the organization's mission. Responsible for ensuring successful project management of all Facilities projects. Periodically requires execution of individual work orders.

Ability and strength to bend, kneel, squat, stand, reach, pick up and carry equipment, materials, and supplies (up to 50 lbs.); to stand on ladders or climb scaffolding and stairs; to use dollies, hand trucks, etc.; to stand for extended periods of time; to work outdoors in winter and summer; to maneuver in tight spaces.
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8-5; Flexibility to work outside of regular hours is required based on business needs. Frequent statewide travel is required.
Work Location: The incumbent may reside anywhere within the state of Delaware and will be required to travel to the home office as needed.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year

Essential Functions:
- Facility Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities maintenance plan, including preventative maintenance schedules for building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
- Manage and oversee a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Monitor facility conditions, identify potential issues, and initiate repairs promptly.
- Coordinate with contractors for larger projects like renovations, expansions, or repairs requiring specialized expertise.
- Managing vendors to ensure cost effectiveness and deliver of quality customer service.
- Where necessary, ensures a high caliber of project management is provided within the Facilities team including the responsibility for the coordination, implementation, execution, reporting and completion of Facilities related projects.
- Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Create and manage the facilities budget, tracking expenses related to maintenance, repairs, utilities, contracts, and supplies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all local building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards.
- Work closely with Operations team to participate in and respond to safety assessments conducted by Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards identified.
- Implement and maintain emergency preparedness plans, including evacuation procedures.
- Space Planning and Utilization:
- Work with department heads to assess space needs and optimize facility layout to support program operations.
- Coordinate moves and reconfigurations within the facility as required
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open communication with staff from all departments to address facility concerns and requests promptly.
- Deliver quality customer service to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with other departments on facility-related projects, including event planning and logistic
- Sustainability Initiatives:
- Identify and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce the organization's environmental impact.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of facilities management experience, with 5+ years of supervisory/leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- Proven experience managing facilities operations in a complex fast paced environment, ideally within a non-profit organization.
- Strong understanding of building maintenance systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
- Budgetary management skills and ability to prioritize expenditures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively use technology including MS Office Suite (Word and Excel), SharePoint and FacilityDude/Asset Essentials, or similar facility management software and project management tools.
- Holds and continually maintains a valid driver's license with no more than five points
- Ability to travel statewide using a company-provided vehicle.
