We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and forward-thinking Facilities Director to join our team and lead the strategic management of our facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a management role during a transition period, as our current Facilities Director prepares for retirement. The incoming director will benefit from a six-month overlap with the retiring director, providing ample time for knowledge transfer, mentorship, and a seamless transition. Summary
The Facilities Director is key in maintaining the entire infrastructure of all Center for Alcohol & Drug Treatment facilities. This includes overseeing building maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory codes, and security protocols. They will manage relations with vendors and work to optimize facility standards and functionality. They will work closely with multiple directors to ensure safe, efficient, and productive working environments. The Facilities Director will also supervise a team of Maintenance Technicians to provide support to facilities and provide general maintenance support to facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that facilities are fully functional and efficient, including but not limited to HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, vehicle, and access systems.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensure timely repair services, and monitor systems to prevent costly disruptions.
  • Inspect facilities and equipment to determine the need and extent of services.
  • Contract and receive quotes for services that require specializations from contractors as needed.
  • Develop long-term plans for facility renovation, regular maintenance, or improvements.
  • Purchase building and maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, or furniture.
  • Assemble and analyze contract bids, submit bids and recommendations to CEO & CFO for action.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues as a part of on a 24/7 basis, as well as a part of general rotation with Maintenance Technicians.
  • Maintain tools and equipment for ready use.
  • Directly supervise a team of facilities personnel, including setting expectations, providing training, conducting performance evaluations, and performing disciplinary action.
Required Experience:
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a boiler license, class C, low pressure.
  • Must have 7-10 years of facilities management or related experience.
  • Prior experience supervising a team, including experience with hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Must know and understand regulatory bodies, including but not limited to OSHA, MN Department of Health, MN Department of Human Services, and the DEA.
  • Must have experience with electronic access and security systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with other programs.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with facilities management in a healthcare setting.
  • HVAC certification.
  • Prior experience building and maintaining vendor relationships.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary pay, $60,000-$72,000 per hour, DOE.
