Reports To: Grandview PM, with a dotted line to Prosser PM.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Facilities Manager will oversee all aspects of building functions and guarantee the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff. Ensure proper information is developed, reviewed, and made available to meet company, local and federal regulations. Will provide direction in developing, implementing, and sustaining plant specific policies. The Facilities Manager will work closely with plant management to strategically plan to reduce cost and increase efficiency. Takes part in safety committee meetings, leads incident investigations, tracking, and follows up on action items, and completion to ensure timely solution of any findings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for establishing a positive, team-oriented environment
  • Become familiar with and provide guidance to Operations to ensure that applicable personnel are adequately trained as relates to PSM compliance
  • Communicate and interface with Company personnel including making recommendations for and implementing changes for improvement, replacement, and additions required for compliance and safe and continued operation
  • Stay current with the latest regulations and standards associated with PSM and RMP
  • Set up and monitor Process Safety metrics
  • Project management, supervising and coordinating the work of contractors
  • Perform cost analysis for required goods or services to achieve maximum return on investment
  • Managing and leading changes to ensure minimum disruption to core operational activities
  • Building, equipment and grounds maintenance
  • Ensure the security of the facility and that it meets all health / safety requirements, complying with all legislative entities
  • Utilities and communications infrastructure
  • Planning the best allocation and utilization of space / resources
  • Overseeing facilities personnel, using performance management techniques to ensure company standards and expectations are met
  • Responsible for Environmental, Health, and Safety reporting
  • Ensures (EHS) through the review and assessment of PSM requirements
  • Lead in Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis
  • Work closely with the Plant Managers in regard to strategic planning for future development or expansions
  • Develop and maintain a robust equipment safety program for all users
  • Create, update and employ departmental safety training for all departmental chemical storage and hazardous waste disposal.
  • Establish security, safety and maintenance policies

WORK EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Five or more years of experience as a facilities Manager in the ingredient, beverage, or food processing industry.
  • Procurement and negotiation.
  • Project management.
  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • 3+ years PSM experience including implementing and facilitating the plant PSM program
  • Detailed knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations
  • Strong safety experience
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify potential risks and associated mitigations
  • Able to bring new ideas and an innovative approach to problem-solving
  • Strong leadership / teamwork skills maintaining a high level of integrity, honesty, tolerance and responsibility.
  • Possess solid analytical skills to perform cost comparisons.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Extreme attention to detail in the generation of accurate paperwork.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, engineering or related discipline preferred.
