About LPSD
We design and manufacture Cat C27, C32, 3400, 3500, C175, 3600 and C280 platforms; Perkins 4000 series and 5000 series platforms and MWM gas engine platforms, drivetrains and engine system components.
Through our global organization, we design and manufacture the most comprehensive lineup of large diesel and natural gas engines in the industry, as well as engine components and powertrains. The large engine product portfolio includes Cat, Perkins and MWM branded products. Applications include Cat machines, electric power generation, marine, oil & gas, industrial and locomotive.
Role Definition
Provides maintenance, installation, and consulting support for 1500-2000 machining assets (mechanical, electrical, and controls). The Facilities Project Engineer works with the facilities maintenance, safety, operations, and manufacturing engineering teams on multiple projects.

Responsibilities
- Overseeing building services and the installation and maintenance of production equipment and building systems.
- Communicating with suppliers' technical support to address equipment or infrastructure disruptions.
- Performing routine-to-complex engineering work potentially on multiple or large facilities.
- Manages planning, execution and control of small to medium scope facilities projects. Provides products and services to client's requirements.
Requirements
- Problem Solving (extensive experience): Identify and resolve problems using various tools and techniques. Understand different perspectives, develop solutions, and weigh the pros and cons to help make the best decision.
- Project Management (extensive experience): Planning, organizing, monitoring, and controlling projects to make sure everything runs smoothly, and resources are used efficiently. Estimate costs and time, identify risks, create backup plans, review projects regularly, keep everyone in the loop, and set up reporting and control systems.
- Troubleshooting Technical Problems (extensive experience): Identify and resolve technical issues in a manufacturing environment. Evaluates the impact of failures, resolve tough equipment and system problems, monitor machine performance, coach others on solving integration issues, isolate problems, and use advanced diagnostic tools for unusual or performance-related issues.
Top Candidates will also have:
- Degree in Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics) is a plus.
- Facilities Management (extensive experience): Evaluates staff and equipment placement, coach others, monitor safety and equipment needs, update security processes, resolve complex issues with customers and vendors, and help coordinate the design and construction of new or improved facilities.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)- Factory Pro preferred.
- Vendor Management: Experience in managing relationships with vendors, including negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance, and resolving issues to maintain a successful partnership.
- PowerBI: Proficiency in using PowerBI for data analysis and visualization to gain insights and support decision-making processes.
- AutoCAD: Skilled in using AutoCAD for designing and planning layouts, ensuring efficient use of space and resources.
- Cost Savings/Lean Manufacturing: Demonstrated ability to implement cost-saving measures and lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and enhance overall productivity.

- Up to 10% domestic travel required for this position
