Core One is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to support our Corporate Office.

Description:

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will develop, implement, and maintain the company's internal security program to safeguard our facilities, personnel, and sensitive information. The FSO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of security operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and managing both physical and personnel security measures. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of security policies, facility operations, and risk management, with a proactive approach to security oversight.

Requirements:
  • Security Program Management:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive security program to protect company assets, personnel, and facilities.
    • Ensure the company's security practices comply with NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual), DCID, and other federal security guidelines.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of security protocols, systems, and procedures.
    • Oversee the implementation of security training programs for staff and security personnel.
  • Facility Security:
  • Provides support for all facility and personnel security functions in accordance with the National Industrial Security Procedures Operating Manual (NISPOM)
    • Manage and monitor access control systems, CCTV surveillance, alarm systems, and physical barriers to safeguard facility integrity.
    • Develop and maintain facility security procedures, including incident response plans and evacuation procedures.
    • Coordinate and supervise security personnel to ensure constant, adequate protection of all company facilities.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all security measures comply with government regulations, including but not limited to NISPOM, ITAR, and other relevant security protocols.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and government agencies (e.g., DSS, DCSA) regarding security clearances, inspections, and audits.
    • Prepare and submit security-related reports, documentation, and incident logs to regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Security Risk Management:
    • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify potential security threats and gaps.
    • Recommend and implement corrective actions to mitigate security risks.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest security technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements in systems and procedures.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Lead and mentor a team of security personnel, providing training and guidance on security protocols and compliance.
    • Collaborate with HR, IT, and other departments to ensure a unified approach to security and safety within the organization.
    • Coordinate with external security contractors and vendors for maintenance and upgrades to security systems and facilities.
  • Incident Management:
    • Lead incident response and investigation efforts related to security breaches or events.
    • Maintain incident logs and documentation, conduct post-incident analysis, and recommend corrective measures.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in facility security or related roles, with at least 3 years in a senior security position.
  • In-depth knowledge of government security requirements (NISPOM, FISMA, ITAR) and industry best practices.
  • Certified Facility Security Officer (FSO) designation or similar industry-recognized certification (preferred). Other certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or similar would be a plus.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies, access control systems, CCTV, and physical security measures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make quick, effective decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • High attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough security investigations.
  • Must be able to respond to security incidents after regular business hours as needed.
