Program Description

The Full Circle Family Program (FCFP) provides outpatient mental health services to children and youth ages 0-21 and their families. Our services are accessible through Medi-Cal or in partnership with the County of San Francisco and San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) to deliver Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS).

At FCFP, we are committed to reducing barriers and stigma around mental health by offering services in settings that best meet clients' needs, including schools, homes, community-based locations throughout San Francisco, and our centrally located clinic in downtown San Francisco.

Job Description

The Family Clinician will provide, assessment, plan development, and individual, group, and family therapy to children and youth 0-21 years and their families in a variety of settings, such as schools, clients' homes, community-based settings, and the FCFP clinic. The Family Clinician role emphasizes trauma-informed care, cultural awareness and humility, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive practices, ensuring that every interaction honors the lived experiences, culture, and values of the individuals and families served. Services are guided by a comprehensive process of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning that centers on the strengths and resilience of clients, their families, and their community. Clinicians will actively contribute to social justice and racial equity by addressing systemic barriers, engaging in anti-racism and other anti-ism work as a clinician - advancing accessibility and de-stigmatizing mental health care for all.

Group and individual supervision will be provided in accordance with the Board of Behavioral Sciences' (BBS) requirements.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy; assessment, case management, plan development, crisis, and other services as necessary to clients ages 0-21 and their families
  • Provide services using evidence based and informed practices/theories
  • Provide services using an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, culturally aware, and trauma-informed practices
  • Complete 7-domain assessments, Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS), Pediatric Symptom Checklist (PSC-35), treatment plan of care (TPOC) in accordance with Felton, Medi-
  • Cal, county, and federal requirements
  • Pass and maintain active CANS certification
  • Strict adherence to ERMHS and Medi-Cal requirements for service delivery and documentation, including meeting all documentation deadlines
  • Collaborate with community referral sources and other partners to support clients' health and wellbeing, such as schools, county departments, and other community-based organizations (CBOs)
  • Strict adherence to all ethical and legal requirements as a Felton employee, BBS registered, and a county contracted service delivery provider
  • Provide service delivery to clients and their families in the least restrictive setting possible, such as in the school, community, at homes, or in the clinic
  • Maintain Department of Public Health's and Felton supportive productivity standards of 780 hrs/year
  • Maintain active standing with the BBS at all times
  • Participate in scheduled team meetings, audits, Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings, and other multi-disciplinary meetings as needed
  • Engage in healthy conflict resolution practices to address team dynamics and operational challenges effectively
  • Foster a culture of accountability and inclusivity by promoting clear communication, setting expectations, providing and receiving feedback, and ensuring follow-through on commitments

Minimum Requirements/Qualification
  • Masters or doctoral degree in psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy Required
  • Registration with the California BBS or the California Board of Psychology (BOP) required
  • Demonstrate inclusivity of working with clients and their families from many different cultural, ethnic, and sexual orientation gender identity expressive (SOGIE) backgrounds required
  • Experience providing community based mental health services to children, youth, and families strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of evidence-based, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, culturally aware, and trauma informed practices in mental health preferred
  • Knowledge and experience serving gender expansive children, youth, and their families preferred
  • Proficiency in providing assessment and diagnosis using the DSM-5-TR and ICD-10 preferred
  • Working knowledge of a variety of computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, PowerPoint, Adobe) preferred
  • Prior experiencing using electronic health records systems (ERH), such as Epic/CareLink preferred
  • Experience providing services in accordance with Medi-Cal requirements preferred
  • Knowledge and/or experience navigating San Francisco's health system and resources preferred
  • Experience working in or fostering diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments is strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, collaborate, and maintain a welcoming attitude
  • Ability to work primarily independently with direction and support
  • Ability to pass a Department of Justice Live Scan criminal background clearance required
  • Ability to pass TB test required
  • Possess a valid California driver's license and a reliable vehicle with active insurance OR strong ability and willingness to navigate public transportation to ensure service delivery required
  • Bilingual in one of the mentioned languages is REQUIRED (Spanish, Chinese-Cantonese/Mandarin), Filipino,Tagalog).

Job Type: Full Time

Work Schedule: On-site, in the community (schools, homes, etc.), and at the FCFP clinic, limited opportunities for hybrid work may be available, subject to program needs and supervisor approval

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $90,000 - $108,000 Annually (DOE)
