Our law firm is seeking a Family Attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including Divorce, Legitimation, child custody, and child support issues. You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients.
You'll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. Responsibilities
Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed
Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases
Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
Qualifications
4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants
Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
