We're looking for someone to join our team as a Family Medicine Physician for our Rio Bravo Family Medicine Residency Program who:
The Faculty Physician understands and agrees that the majority of his time will be sent providing teaching, supervision and mentorship to the residents and students of the Rio Bravo Family Medicine Residency Program (RBFMRP). As a result, the Physician will report directly to the Program Director of the RBFMRP, who will assign specific duties and responsibilities to the Physician for the benefit of the Program and its participants.
Essential Functions:
Educational lectures for the residents and students of the RBFMRP.
Serving as a faculty advisor for a group of residents.
Participation in the timely evaluations of the residents and students assigned to him.
Participation in residency program committees, such as the Program Evaluation Committee (PEC), Clinical Competency Committee (CCC), or others.
Faculty development activities.
Residency recruitment.
Coordination of efforts with the RBFMRP Clerkship Director, to facilitate teaching, supervision and mentorship of our assigned students.
Maintenance of hospital privileges in order to provide hospital coverage, in turn with the other program Core Faculty, at Kern Medical, including maternity care services (antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum) in coordination with the other faculty providing these services.
Maintaining an independent clinical practice, without the presence of residents, in accordance with ACGME requirements, at a Clinica Sierra Vista site, whether that be East Niles CHC or an alternate.
Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
You will be successful with the following qualifications:
1. Professional clinical experience in physician's specialty.
2. Must possess:
California Physician's License
Board Certification
DEA Certificate
BLS certification through American Heart Association.
Appropriate hospital privileges consistent with responsibilities as a teaching physician.
3. Authoritative knowledge of the principles, practice, and techniques in the physician's specialty.
4. Interests in the research potential inherent in physician's specialty highly desirable.
