The ideal candidate will have board certification in family medicine, internal medicine, or a related field, along with a commitment to long-term patient relationships and holistic care.
Duties:
The role involves providing comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, encompassing diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic services tailored to the individual's specialty and experience. Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as laboratory analyses and imaging studies; prescribing medications and developing treatment plans; and administering vaccinations, including flu shots and routine childhood immunizations. Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting care plans are essential tasks. Effective communication with patients and families, advising on wellness and disease prevention, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and make referrals for specialized treatment are key aspects of the role. Additionally, performing routine medical procedures, supervising medical staff, and providing education and training to medical residents and other healthcare professionals are integral to supporting the healthcare team's effective operation.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong capability to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, deliver preventive care, and conduct routine checkups for patients of all ages. Essential qualifications include proficiency in ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging studies, as well as the ability to prescribe medications and develop comprehensive treatment plans. Expertise in administering vaccinations and other preventive measures is required. The candidate should be adept at maintaining accurate and confidential patient records and capable of clearly explaining medical procedures and treatment plans to patients and their families. Effective collaboration with other healthcare professionals and the ability to coordinate patient care are critical. Additionally, the role requires managing and treating both chronic and acute conditions, performing routine medical procedures, and executing minor surgical tasks. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution, completed a residency in family medicine or a related field, and hold board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty. A current, active, unrestricted medical license to practice in a U.S. state, with preference for Oklahoma, is necessary, along with valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control (OBNDDC) registration numbers. Physically, the candidate must be able to stand for extended periods, lift and maneuver patients or equipment, and perform delicate medical tasks, requiring dexterity, coordination, and the ability to handle various medical technologies.
