Position Summary
The 65-bed specialized inpatient rehabilitation unit at Holy Family Hospital serves older adults with rehabilitation needs following neurological (mostly stroke), orthopedic, amputations, and other medical illnesses. Each of the 10 teams (ranging from 6-10 patients) includes a Primary Care Physician as the Admitting Physician and Physiatrist, as part of a full interdisciplinary group to help patients optimize their function and independence.
We are seeking locum coverage for away dates of primary care physicians (MRP), with potential future coverage of one or more inpatient rehab teams. Responsibilities include twice a week rounding on the inpatient rehab teams you are MRP for, as well as ward coverage for any medical issues on other teams. On-call duties with remote Cerner access are 1 week at a time on average every 8-10 weeks or when available for scheduling (Friday evening to Friday morning).
Qualifications
The successful candidates will have an CCFP in Family Medicine and be certified or be eligible for licensure by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons. Preference will be given to those candidates with an interest and experience in inpatient care, and the care of older adults with complex medical needs.
Remuneration is a combination of fee-for-service and sessionals.
