About our Program: Crisis Stabilization Unit/ CSU: Is a 23hr 59min unit for youth placed on a 5150 hold that requires Intensive stabilization. The goal is to divert youth from more extended psychiatric hospital stays.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
JOB SUMMARY
Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency. Under direct supervision, models strength-based relationships with youth and families. Working in the living environment or the school setting, assists in the design and implementation of interventions and strategies in support of youth and family goals. Ensures the provision of safety and health in a variety of environments for youth and families in accordance with agency standards. Coaches primary care givers and other community members. Provides mentorship and support of Residential Family Specialist I.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Demonstrates mastery of the Family Specialist I Job Description, or mastery of the skills described in the Family Specialist 1 job description Organizes, implements, and evaluates appropriate activities to achieve youth, family/caregiver caregiver-identified goals. Supports the facilitation of trainings. Provides coaching and mentoring to others in the principles and concepts of positive behavior change and crisis management Documents interactions, practices, and maintains administrative expectations in a timely manner. Provides direct billable mental health services, documents in alignment with MediCal regulations, and achieves set productivity expectations. Provides leadership in developing program responses to needs identified across a number of youth and families/caregivers where natural community resources are not available or appropriate. Trains, orients, and coaches Residential/Crisis Stabilization Unit Family Specialists I. . Physical interactions with children of variable ages such as but not limited to games, sports, and other activities. Participates in physical restraints using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques. Required to meet applicable productivity and documentation requirements. Position-specific duties, responsibilities, and requirements may vary depending upon program. Leads the shift and ensures that all task during shifts are delegated and completed. Performs other related responsibilities, as assigned, to support specific department/business needs. Assists Mental Health Clinician with initial and ongoing assessment and treatment planning. Also assists in completing case management and administrative functions. Support in the development and or maintenance of safety plans with youth, parents/caregivers. Designs and facilitates therapeutic groups Utilize effective interpersonal skills to promote positive and cooperative relationships with youth and their family members through the therapeutic treatment process. RESIDENTIAL ONLY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitates, supports, and models participation in healthy group dynamics within various settings including family homes, schools, parks, and recreation centers and provides an open forum for expression of feelings and ideas when appropriate. Participates in the on-call rotation. Driving to appointments with clients and their families or other key contacts. Assists in stabilizing residential or home placement through strength-based counseling, crisis intervention and parent/care giver education. Helps parents/care givers learn the techniques required to manage youth's behavioral triggers or intervention strategies and ensure their daily care and supervision--this includes assisting with parent/care giver support groups and training. Completes assigned tasks that facilitate placement (e.g. ensure that the youth's academic, medical, therapeutic and/or tutoring needs are met.)

Compensation We Offer
- The initial compensation for this position ranges from $34.61 - $42.57 per hour.
- Salary is dependent on commensurate experience above the minimum qualifications for the role and internal equity considerations.
- The salary may also vary if you reside in a different location than the location posted.
- 8% License Differential for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD. and select Peer Certifications. *
- 7.5% Bilingual Differential for qualified positions*

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Associate's Degree (AA/ AS) in a related field AND six (6) years experience working with children required
- OR
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/ BS) in a related field AND four (4) years experience working with children required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree (AA/ AS) in a mental health-related field AND six (6) years related experience in a mental health setting preferred OR
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/ BS) in a mental health-related field AND four (4) years related experience in a mental health setting preferred OR
- Master's Degree (MA/ MS) in a mental health-related field AND two (2) years related experience in a mental health setting preferred.
OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Pass an initial physical abilities test and be certified in crisis intervention techniques within the first 30 days and annually.
- Employee shall be at least 21 years of age or by program requirement.
