As the Federal Contracts Leader, you will have the unique opportunity to lead and mature Slalom's Federal Market contracts team, which is focused on delivering impactful experiences and outcomes for US Federal Departments and Agencies. You'll be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that will include contract administration, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal regulations, and supporting the company's strategic growth objectives within the federal contracting space. You will leverage your ability to build trust and lead through influence and expertise to build and scale the risk and contract management function across Slalom. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of federal acquisition principles, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing a diverse portfolio of federal contracts.

What You'll Do:

Portfolio Management and Administration
  • Manage a portfolio of federal contracts, including GSA Schedules, GWACs, IDIQs, BPAs, and BOAs.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with FAR, DFARS, HFAR, OTAs, and other applicable regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, including reporting, deliverables, and performance standards.
  • Manage contract modifications, option exercises, and closeouts.
  • Drive utilization of contract mechanisms across the company.

Communication and Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government Contracting Officers (COs) and Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs).
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including account leads, legal, and finance.
  • Collaborate with internal business teams to resolve contract administration challenges and mitigate contract risk.

Negotiation and Agreements
  • Negotiate and administer teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), contractor teaming arrangements (CTAs), Mentor-Protg Program (MPP) Joint Ventures (JVs), and other JVs.
  • Draft, negotiate, and/or review contracts, agreements, and scopes of work that leverage existing contract vehicles to enable compliance with corporate and legal requirements.
  • Review and analyze solicitations, prepare compliant and competitive proposals, and negotiate contract terms and conditions.

Compliance and Strategy
  • Develop and implement contract strategies to maximize business opportunities and minimize risk.
  • Support compliance efforts related to GSA Schedule requirements, ISO standards, CMMC, CMMI, and FCL.
  • Advise on Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) issues.
  • Support audits by government agencies.
  • Review RFx to identify areas of potential business and contractual risk, develop questions, assumptions, and exceptions to influence contract strategy and post-award compliance.

Training and Process Improvement
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contract requirements and compliance matters.
  • Participate in contract-related process improvement initiatives, including identifying areas to automate contract management, reporting, and compliance activities.


What You'll Bring:

Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) or NCMA professional contracting certification (e.g., CPCM, CFCM).

Experience and Knowledge
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in federal contract management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and other applicable federal regulations.
  • Experience with prime and subcontracts administration and management in the public sector.
  • Proficiency and experience contracting with and through public sector industry partners.
  • Experience with a variety of contract types, including firm-fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, and time-and-materials contracts.
  • Experience with federal contracting mechanisms (e.g., GSA Schedules, GWACs, IDIQs, BOAs, etc.).

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep knowledge of risk, contract, and legal principles, with the ability to identify high-risk terms and understand the impact of flow-down terms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to influence and lead institutional process improvements without authority.

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $190,000 to $230,000 for Director level. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
