Role:

The Field Finance Manager facilitates communication and provides guidance to regional field teams that is aligned with strategy set centrally. This position is responsible for implementing and ensuring consistent application of key financial processes throughout all regions. Assists in deploying action plans and strategies designed to drive financial results and improve controls. Supports regional teams by leveraging best practices that increase cross-regional collaboration. Develops tools and training that enable Field Finance teams to complete tasks more effectively, allowing for greater functional business partnership. They work closely with the regional finance teams, functional Canada Support Centre (CSC) teams and report directly to the VP Field Finance.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for interpreting financial information and identifying opportunities to analyze further to develop solutions or to improve results
  • Communicates findings and sets collaborative working meetings to problem solve and set actions into motion.
  • Supports financial decisions by outlining conclusions and making recommendations based on financial analysis.
  • Provides support and suggests strategies to field Finance and Sales teams for specific customer profitability and deal structure for local customers.
  • Assists field teams with preparation of local customer presentations when required.
  • Provides analysis of financial components that impact planning, forecasting and actual results.
  • Identifies and assists in quantifying regional cost leadership opportunities.
  • Implements standard operating procedures (SOP) to support process improvement and standardization across all regions.
  • Acts as central point of contact for specific requests and organizes information gathering to respond to inquiries.
  • Plans, scopes, deploys and trains field teams on initiatives that will be managed within regions.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of internal controls, standard operating procedures, existing practices and initiatives, etc.
  • Balances decisions to improve processes by evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods compared to new techniques.
  • Creates standardized tools and tests for quality control prior to wider roll-out.
  • Provides ad-hoc analytics and financial decision support.
  • Complies with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience working in a finance/accounting role.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in accounting; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • CPA designation or MBA not required but considered an asset.
  • Intermediate MS Excel Skills required, with experience in creating, from scratch, user-friendly templates and processes that facilitate meaningful reporting, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of market, competition, products and industry trends.
  • Able to deploy Finance best practices across the organization.
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to build Senior Leadership Decks.
  • Able to quickly understand and find practical solutions to complex problems as they arise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to create alignment across multiple businesses and work productively to achieve shared goals.
  • Develops and implements cost saving measures.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strategic minded with strong influential skills.
  • Flexible and able to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required. Limited travel may be required (up to 10%).
