This role will be part of the most rapidly growing segment within Fluor, one that spearheads transformative projects in advanced technologies and life sciences.
This position serves as a Field Material Manager on small to medium-sized EPFC projects, or as a Field Procurement Manager on medium to large-sized EPFC projects. It has key responsibilities for critical supplier negotiations. It requires strategic thinking and action, considering all available facts and data, as well as considering alternative courses of action, resources, constraints, and company values.
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and fourteen
(14) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eighteen (18) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
Applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)
Primary experience is in the area of material management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent computer literacy and skills
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
International project experience
Megaproject experience
Ability/willingness for home office and/or field short term and long-term assignments
Other Job Requirements
Account for job site material functions including field expediting, material planning and control, and purchasing of specified bulk items.
Handle hazardous and toxic materials, outbound shipments, construction equipment control, and disposal of surplus and scrap.
Develop a well-defined and integrated Site Material Management Plan in support of construction.
Establish field materials manpower requirements and schedule in organizational chart format.
Review the prime project contract and develop the material handling budget.
Establish informational flows among various stakeholders.
Develop a Master Storage Plan considering supplier's/manufacturer's recommendations to ensure warranty requirements.
Provide technical and administrative direction related to company and project policies and procedures.
Perform periodic reviews and audits of project Material Management execution.
Implement, manage, and monitor the Material Management Work Process to meet project requirements.
Advocate the use of the Material Management knowledge management portals and communities.
Maintain effective client relationships through excellent service execution.
Analyze situations, forecast problems, evaluate options, and implement appropriate actions.
Maintain compliance with all policies, procedures, and global standards, supporting health, safety, and environmental policies.
May need to travel to attend to business related matters
