At Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB), our mission starts with the breeding and care of puppies who are on a journey to potentially become guide dogs for the blind or visually impaired. As Field Program Manager, you will provide education, technical training and comprehensive support to over 2,000 client teams throughout the U.S. and Canada and be responsible for the development, staffing, and supervision of the Field Program, including team assessment and training, placement instruction, post placement support services and future program development. You will be relied on to ensure the safety and effectiveness of each Guide Dog and K9 Buddy team, and collaborate with the K9 Buddy Program Manager, Apprentice Program Manager and Guide Dog Training Program Managers to align policies with our mission and values. This is a campus-based position that may be based at either of GDB's campuses in San Rafael, CA or Boring, OR.

Pay Range
California: $109,000/year - $133,000/year
Oregon: $92,000/year - $113,000/year

What you'll do:
- Establish and align policies, systems, and procedures for all areas and across all roles within the Field Program to provide superior education, technical training, and holistic support for clients
- Manage Field Program resources, ensuring adequate staffing and resource allocation while responding to both routine and emergent field needs
- Actively lead and manage performance of all Field Service Managers and Field Service Support Specialists by setting performance benchmarks, providing ongoing coaching, conducting reviews, and providing regular feedback
- Support Field Service Managers and Field Service Support Specialists in managing complex or emergent situations, navigating difficult conversations, and ensuring effective communication, implementation and follow-up for successful resolution
- Establish performance benchmarks and measurements to account for the department's contributions to GDB's overall success rate
- Assist in preparing the annual operating budget

The qualifications you'll need:
- Qualified GDMI with proven leadership competencies; training and/or field supervisory experience preferred; four-year degree in a related field highly desired
- Proven leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to communicate and manage change effectively and develop and implement goals aligned with our mission
- Strong organizational, project, and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines, identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, collaborate with others to solve complex issues, and communicate outcomes effectively
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and analytical abilities; ability to innovate, build partnerships with diverse staff, volunteers and external partners, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in using standard office equipment and Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
