Summary

Provides health, safety, environmental support, and training to all operational roles within a geographically defined region of Alloy Group. This role ensures compliance with safety standards and supports safe execution of projects, while providing field-based leadership in safety practices.

Essential Functions

Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
Conduct daily safety inspection and maintain accurate safety logs.
Ensure subcontractor compliance with the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
Serve as liaison during agency inspections and audits
Provide technical expertise in risk mitigation, incident investigation, and case management.
Conducts and coordinates training.
Maintain and organize safety-related documentation, including:
  • Daily logs (signed/dated)
  • Incident/near-miss reports
  • AHA documentation
  • Safety training and certification records

  • Incident management.
    Case management.
    Acts as liaise during agency inspections and audits.
    Supports Safety Director with the implementation of organizational initiatives.

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. Must be able to walk across rugged terrain, climb substantial heights, and work over and on water. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly requires work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent occasionally lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. This position frequently requires long hours, holidays and weekend work.

    Must be on-site full-time when work is being performed

    Travel

    The role requires significant travel, up to 70%.

    Required Education and Experience
    • BS Health, Safety, or Environmental Science.
    • At least 5 years of construction industry safety experience
      • OR 3 years of safety experience with a safety-related degree or recognized certification such as:
        • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
        • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
        • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)

    Required Certifications & Training
    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Course
      • Must be current (completed within the last 5 years)
    • Additional Safety Training:
      • Fall Protection
      • Confined Space Entry
      • Hazard Communication
      • EM 385-1-1 Compliance Training (as required by contracts)


    Additional Requirements
    • Valid driver's license
    • Ability to obtain or maintain relevant certifications as required
    • Certified Safety Professional certification, or ability to obtain.
