Job Description

Oversee the entire field services practice of the company. Responsible for marketing and business development, directing and managing teams focused on Survey and SUE related projects in multiple geographic markets. Required to interface with clients, and Federal, Local, and State government contacts for municipal projects located anywhere within the country and travel is required.

Primary Job Duties:
  • Lead a diverse team and contribute to the continuous growth of the Field Services team
  • Develop new business through technical proposal development, networking, specialized service offerings, client interaction, conference participation, and professional reputation
  • Develop project proposals including scopes and budgets and interfacing/negotiating with clients both internally and externally
  • Manage the financial performance and reporting requirements of our Land Surveying and SUE practice
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge in Land Surveying and SUE services including the development of our digital delivery
  • Strategic life-cycle management of tools, equipment, and technology for Land Surveying and SUE
  • Contribute positively to a committed, professional team environment
  • Recruit Field practice staff to extend our practice capabilities
  • Mentoring and development of staff
  • Demonstrate clear and concise, verbal and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, resources, and presentations


Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of twenty (20) years of progressive experience/leadership with Land Surveying and SUE work
  • Arizona Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) license is required and eligibility for licenses in additional US States. Certified Federal Surveyor license (CFedS) a plus
  • Qualified professional who has reached the exec-manager level; capable of providing planning, leadership, direction, and technical expertise to manage complex tasks and projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with capacity to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, senior staff, and clients
  • Travel required when necessary, including the potential for overnight stays up to 2-3 nights a week.
  • Experience with common software for industry
  • Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier

Working Conditions and Environment:

This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally uses the advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment. Working knowledge of dealing with a diverse population while using tact, diplomacy, and respect.
