UW Medicine Patient Financial Access Services Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Financial Access Specialist Manager.
WORK SCHEDULE
8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday - Friday
Remote, occasional assignment at UWM onsite work locations based on operational and/or staff onsite training needs
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Manages and directs a team of 60 team members, across 6 service lines, system wide
Work closely on a regular basis with all UW Med Department Leadership and Executives when needed. Cross department collaboration is necessary in their daily work
Responsible for 200-250 patient Encounters each day, to push thru and secure authorization prior to Date of Service, per Mgr., and addressing edits needing correction, to move patient claim along, equating to between $4M - $9M at potential risk to the organization
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily oversight of meeting with Supervisors to ensure Team assignments match the level of financial risk of work completion for that day, working with Analysts/Meetings to provide decision making and review of proposed workflows for the team and performance management issues/escalations
Continuous review and pivoting team assignments based on level of financial risk to the organization- balancing the volume of high-risk work as well as daily work to ensure the work the team is doing is the right work at the right time
Meets with organizational leaders/stakeholders for their departments that we support and provides authorization for presenting data showing success rates, KPI's, issues at hands and sharing technical issues and or gaps in hand offs/workflows risking authorizations for their service lines
Works closely with the Business Technical Analyst Team members on reviewing issues, providing ideas for resolution and mitigating risk moving forward
Responsible for review and root cause analysis of all accounts that result in a $0 pay/reimbursement, due to No Authorization
Workds with Supervisors for both Team Member issue/escalations, but also with organization Leaders over the service lines FACT supports
Works with Leaders throughout the system- both mid and executive leaders who are customers and stakeholders to our work
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and 4-5 years' experience in Revenue Cycle, Financial Clearance/Patient Access
Epic User Knowledge, Epic Technical Knowledge
6 Months Manager Experience
