This is a highly responsible professional position, which assists the Director of Unclaimed Property in directing and administrating programs with the Division's asset components, such as cash, securities and tangible property.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This is a highly responsible professional position, which assists the Director of Unclaimed Property in directing and administrating programs with the Division's asset components, such as cash, securities and tangible property.
- This position deals with developing, evaluating, documenting, implementing accounting and auditing methods, procedures and techniques in the Division's manual and automated accounting systems. This position exercises independent judgment when dealing with the Division's assets. Extensive knowledge of statutes, rules and opinions is necessary to develop and direct the policies and procedures used to administer these functions assigned to the Division.
- Administers and directs the development, evaluation, documentation, and maintenance of the Division's assets of cash, securities, and tangible items for the purpose of safeguarding and proper reporting of these assets per generally accepted accounting principles and internal accounting policies, procedures, and practices. Prepares coordinated reports and comparisons for appropriate state and federal officials and upper management.
- Directs the preparation of general functional specifications for the automated accounting systems and the development of internal controls and security standards of all phases of accounting and auditing operations involving the Division's monetary, securities, and tangible assets.
- Administers and directs the Division's fiscal/budgetary operations including the development, installation, evaluation, documentation, and maintenance of procedures, methods and techniques necessary to carry out these operations and coordinates the preparation of numerical analysis as required by management and the Legislature.
- Performs supervisory functions to include, but not limited to appraisals, leave and attendance, discipline, motivation, and leadership.
- Assist Division Director by working on special projects as assigned in timely and professional manner (i.e. legislation, legal case preparation, etc.).
- Serves as the Division's representative on the Long-Range Program Plan, core-planning group.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
