The Role:

Responsible for a combination of plant finance and accounting including but not limited to: Variance Analysis, Cost Center Analysis, Cost Accounting, Internal Controls, Raw Material / Packaging Usage Analysis, General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Period-end Close and Budget/Forecast planning.

What You'll Do:
  • Manufacturing Finance Analytical Responsibilities - Analyze daily process orders variances including working with manufacturing teams on corrections, analyze production line efficiencies and financial impact to plant, perform daily production vs. shipping reconciliation utilizing SAP functionality, and monitor production recording to include assisting in accurate finished goods reporting and accountability. Calculate plant OEE on a weekly basis and updates management on variances to budget and forecast. Complete detailed labor analysis and reconciliation on weekly basis.
  • Period End Close Responsibilities - Own period-end close processes for both general ledger & inventory; prepare journal entries for period end accruals, reversals, and expense re-allocations; responsible for full expense review across all departments to properly and accurately recognize costs in the P&L; additionally, own calculates and reports production line efficiencies used as a key KPI across plant leadership; own financial reporting to plant management after period end closing, and prepares timely and accurate account reconciliations. Instrumental in HSE reporting across various manufacturing KPI categories which is required by parent company and is reported in Annual Report. Work cross functionally with cost center owners to analyze drivers of period results and collaborate on year to go action plans.
  • Budget/Forecast Planning Responsibilities - Provide supportto the Controller in the development of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, period estimates, which would result in development of the annual standard cost update. Responsible for various functions such as: Analyze labor and material usage trends, manage assumptions/drivers, annual budget process, information gathering, production support, and "what if" scenario assignments.
  • Plant Internal Controls Responsibilities - Conducts audits/tests of internal controls to ensure accuracy of plant inventory, performs periodic SAP recipe analysis/audits to ensure accurate scrap rates and consumption rates, supports indirect plant functions in resolving accounting and control system problems as directed, and reconciles payroll ledger data to ADP records.
  • Accounting Support Responsibilities - Provide accounting day to day support and training for any new personnel coming to Argo. This area is requiring heavy support with the turnover at Argo.
  • Inventory/Material Usage Analysis - Analyze usage variance data, serve as cycle-count support, prepare cycle count completion tracking; prepare period-end reports ensuring adherence to corporate slow moving & obsolescence policy while working with Materials Dept; and facilitate product hold & dump processes while ensuring proper transactional timing.
  • Continuous Improvement Support - Serve as the financial liaison supporting plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives; Partner with business operations for kaizen events and lean manufacturing projects.
  • Ad Hoc Projects - Provide support for many ongoing projects. Complete special projects or other assignments as directed by Controller or plant upper management (such as Union Negotiations, fill in with PO's/GRIR when MRO team was understaffed, etc.)

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • 2-5 years of professional accounting experience with at least 1-2 years at a manufacturing site (prior food and packaging experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Knowledgeable in various accounting and inventory programs. Knowledge of SAP is valued.
  • CPA or CMA a plus.

Salary Range:
  • Starting Salary Range: $93,100-$117,915. This includes the starting base pay rangeExact compensation will vary based on candidates' qualifications, job related knowledge and experience and specific location.
  • Variable Pay is included in compensation package yet not part of base salary range.
