Description
This position is ideal for an early career self-motivated & detailed oriented finance professional. This individual will be responsible for (1) Financial Accruals (preparing month/quarter-end close journal entries); (2) Assisting in the preparation of departmental budgets, forecasts, and trend analysis; (3) Developing into a trusted business partner supporting Commercial Teams to meet financial objectives while delivering optimal results. Role expectations
- Responsible for month/quarter-end close operating expense journal entries such as accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations.
- Support Commercial Teams in expense management and financial tracking to drive positive financial performance and growth.
- Assist in supporting budgets, forecasts and strategic plans that provide clear, consistent, and measurable targets for assigned business groups
- Responsible for headcount approvals in Workday, purchase requisition approvals in SAP, contracts approvals in CLM
- Conduct variance analysis to show management how the budget and/or rolling forecast compares against actual performance
- Develop and distribute monthly reports, detailing the financial status and fulfilling any internal financial reporting needs
- Become a trusted business partner offering financial knowledge & guidance on best practices
- Support the preparation of ad-hoc management presentations and requests.
- Ensures that the recording, measurement, and reporting of all financial transactions adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP), internal Align Technology, Inc. corporate policies and procedures, government regulations and local business/functional requirements.
What we're looking for
- 4+ years of relevant Finance experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of how to prepare journal entries and general ledger account analysis
- Problem solver, detailed oriented and must possess analytical skills
- Comfortable with dealing with large volumes of data
- Ability to communicate clearly and support project presentations
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
