Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Mastery: Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in line with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Insightful Reporting: Develop comprehensive financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
- Advanced Analysis: Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of reported data.
- Leadership Role: Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering growth and excellence.
- Data Interpretation: Analyze intricate financial data, extracting and defining relevant information to interpret past performance and project future financial probabilities.
- Decision Support: Interpret financial transactions and events to aid users in making informed economic or business decisions.
- Cost Studies: Plan and conduct detailed studies to determine the cost of business activities, recommending budget adjustments and cost improvement measures.
- Budget Coordination: Oversee and assist in coordinating the UPMC system-wide budgeting process.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related business field required.
- Minimum of five years of related work experience required
- or A Master's degree or CPA license and four years of experience will also be considered
- or High School Diploma/GED and seven years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in forecasting financial operations and budgeting experience required.
- CPA/MBA preferred.
- Experience in the health care industry preferred.
- Prior experience leading/supervising staff preferred.
- Ability to interact effectively with executives and business unit management required.
- Excellent oral and written communications and time management skills are required.
- Strong analytical ability and knowledge of accounting and financial reporting matters required.
- Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency required.
- PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
- Knowledge of system operations preferred.
- Successful completion of UPMC's Finance Management Rotation Program preferred.
