Position Overview: The Financial & Grants Analyst plays an integral role in the fiscal processes of the district. This position prepares and analyzes financial reports, leads account reconciliation, assists with federal/state grant management, and identifies risks and savings opportunities. There is a potential for a hybrid schedule with an allocation of remote work days.
Supervision received: Reports to the Director of Business Services
Salary Range: $84,000 - $104,000

Title: Financial and Grants Analyst

Position Overview: The Financial & Grants Analyst plays an integral role in the fiscal processes of the district. This position prepares and analyzes financial reports, leads account reconciliation, assists with federal/state grant management, and identifies risks and savings opportunities. Supervision received: Reports to the Director of Business Services
Salary Range: $84,000 - $104,000
Example of Essential Duties:
- Analyzes various monthly and year-to-date financials (e.g., operating and capital funds, food services, and grants) identifying areas trending both above and below budget and recommending appropriate corrective actions, if necessary
- Conducts monthly and annual reconciliation and leads on day-to-day accounting of all BOE funds and grants
- Leads the District's grant writing efforts and identifies additional funding opportunities
- Supports the Director of Business Services with annual audits and required financial documents
- Assists with annual budget creation and monitoring, analyzing financial data, developing year-end projections, and presenting findings
- Uses financial analysis to support payroll processing and accounting
- Assists administrators throughout the district with analysis and financial management of program/school-based budgets and grants
- Prepares financial reports, worksheets, and various other documents for distribution to Board of Education stakeholders
- Performs other related duties and special projects as directed
- Provides back-up support to Accounts Payable
- Supports BOE policies and philosophies
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting, finance and budgeting practices and procedures determined by federal, state and local agencies
- Demonstrated familiarity with government analysis, reporting and budgeting
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, and use industry-specific software applications (i.e., MUNIS, QuickBooks)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including the delivery of effective presentations to various audiences
- Understanding of payroll processing and related accounting practices
- Bachelor's degree, from an accredited college or university, in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration, or related field
- At least five years of professional financial experience, preferably in a public sector setting
