What You'll Do
- Oversee all aspects impacting and accounting for inventory.
- Supervise quarterly and annual inventory counts.
- Compute inventory valuations and manage obsolescence reserve.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize financial metrics to guide decision-making and strategic planning.
- Oversee governmental and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure property taxes, business registration filings, and sales taxes/GST are accurate and up to date in all relevant jurisdictions.
- Update, maintain, and strengthen financial models for forecasting and budgeting.
- Generate, review, and publish monthly reports with analysis.
- Support Senior Management with ad hoc budgeting, reporting, and analysis.
- Work with the business to identify and validate key business assumptions.
- Incorporate assumptions into the monthly outlook/forecasts and the annual budget.
- Identify risks and opportunities related to financial reporting.
- Recommend improvements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of cash flow forecasts.
- Train employees in budgetary procedures and techniques.
- Ensure everyone understands the importance of budgeting.
- Include but are not limited to the following: working in an office environment, sitting for extended periods, using computers and other office equipment, occasionally lifting and moving files and documents, attending meetings, and working under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field is preferred.
- CPA license required.
- Other relevant certifications may include Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software is required.
- Knowledge of US GAAP is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 2 years leading the inventory/cost accounting and/or financial reporting areas.
- Experience with regulatory compliance requirements is crucial.
- Experience in liaising with internal and external audit teams, responding to questions, and tracking resolution of issues is beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are important.
- 5-10 years of progressive experience.
- Prior experience with any of the following:
- ERP implementations (moving from QuickBooks to Microsoft Business Central specifically)
- QuickBooks Online
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP
- Inventory Cost Accounting
- Building and producing monthly reporting packages for both US GAAP financials and executive leadership reporting.

$120,000-$140,000 USD
