Position Summary:

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Accounting Manager to lead financial operations and drive business strategy across our technology services and staffing solutions company. Serving public agencies and transit authorities, this role is pivotal in delivering high-impact financial reporting, sound treasury strategy, and robust internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong QuickBooks expertise, a sharp understanding of intercompany financial management, and the ability to develop banking relationships to support current operations and future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting operations: general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month/year-end closings
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely financial statements and management reports in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure consistent use and optimization of QuickBooks for accounting, reporting, and workflow automation
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation for internal reviews and external reporting requirements

Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategy
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and margin analyses across various business units
  • Analyze financial trends and provide actionable insights to executive leadership
  • Lead strategic financial modeling to support new contracts, services, and business expansion

Treasury Management & Cash Flow Strategy
  • Oversee daily and long-term cash flow planning, capital reserves, and working capital
  • Manage all banking relationships, including selection, negotiation, account setup, and compliance monitoring
  • Administer and monitor intercompany transfers and reconciliations between related business entities under common ownership
  • Evaluate funding needs and recommend treasury strategies to support business liquidity and growth

Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, audit standards, and federal/state financial rules
  • Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and risk mitigation procedures
  • Support compliance for transit agency contracts including labor tracking, DBE participation, and public wage rules (e.g., Davis-Bacon)

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead and develop the accounting/finance team, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Collaborate closely with HR, operations, and project teams to ensure accurate time/labor cost allocation and client billing
  • Partner with ownership and executives on special financial projects, intercompany initiatives, and long-range planning

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a controller or senior finance role
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks required; experience with integration to other systems (e.g., CRM, payroll, ERP) is a plus
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and project-based accounting
  • Demonstrated success in cash flow management, banking relationship oversight, and treasury strategy
  • Experience managing intercompany transfers and related-party accounting activities
  • Background in technology services, staffing/recruiting, or transit/public sector contracts is highly preferred
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities

Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of government procurement and public agency financial compliance
  • Familiarity with DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) status and reporting requirements for federal contracts is a strong plus
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting, shared services, and common ownership structures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
