Pay: $85,000 - $100,000 based on experience, plus discretionary annual bonus.

ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
Seeking a Financial Data Analyst and Programmer to join the operations team. In this role, you will perform a variety of operational data tasks, ETL processes, and support trading-related activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in SQL, data management, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, along with exposure to finance operations in an investment advisory or broker-dealer environment. This position involves translating, documenting, and eventually taking ownership of critical processes currently handled by a departing team member. Additional operational responsibilities such as trade data reconciliation and API integration will also be part of the role.

ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in SQL, data management, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, along with exposure to finance operations in an investment advisory or broker-dealer environment. This position involves translating, documenting, and eventually taking ownership of critical processes currently handled by a departing team member. Additional operational responsibilities such as trade data reconciliation and API integration will also be part of the role.
Data and Programming Responsibilities:
- Translate and document existing automated processes and scripts for operational continuity.
- Perform SQL database queries, optimizations, and support data transformation activities.
- Manage and enhance ETL processes to ensure accurate data flow across operational and reporting systems.
- Assist with data capture, API integrations, and file management related to trade activity.
- Support daily data aggregation and reporting tasks tied to trading and portfolio management systems (e.g., MAX Q Analytics).
- Provide technical support for operations and compliance teams by enhancing internal data and reporting tools.
Operations and Finance Responsibilities:
- Reconcile trading data and ensure accurate uploading of trade files into internal systems.
- Perform data analysis and financial reporting to assist operational decision-making.
- Create, maintain, and enhance reports used for management, accounting, and regulatory compliance (FINRA, SEC, MSRB, NFA).
- Assist with reviewing business processes and identifying areas for automation and improvement.
- Support special projects across compliance, finance, and operations departments as assigned.
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
- 2+ years of finance data analysis within a financial institution: broker-dealer, investment advisory, investment banking, real estate investment, banking or similar industry.
- Strong proficiency in SQL programming and data integration processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, especially with pivot, vlookups, macros and VBA.
- Exposure to financial trading environments or portfolio management platforms (e.g., MAX Q Analytics) is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of securities industry regulations (SEC, FINRA, MSRB, NFA) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming, Finance, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and processes.
- Strong documentation skills and independent work habits.
- Familiarity with Instinet and Bloomberg TOMS is a plus.
- FINRA licenses (SIE, Series 7, Series 63) preferred but not required.
